What is it?
Pregnancy is a short, unique and very precious time for mom and baby. Healthy mom and baby sessions are designed to empower and educate pregnant women, new mothers and women who desire to become pregnant. These individual four sessions provide simple and practical ways to create a healthy prenatal and postnatal lifestyle for the mother and the baby.
What is included?
- Four sessions over the course of 4 weeks done online or in-person (for Oahu clients)
- Three books by Dr. Sears (Prepare, Eat and Live Right Now)
- Resource materials and handouts in every session
- Email and text support between sessions
- Access to pregnancy exercise videos

What to expect
The story behind this service
Just one week after completing a course at the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute geared toward pregnant and nursing mothers, I found out I was pregnant. It was the end of 2014 and I had just learned all about maximizing health and wellness both during and after pregnancy. Now, I had the chance to put my learnings into practice by focusing on what Dr. Sears calls the four areas of health: Lifestyle, Exercise, Attitude and Nutrition (LEAN).
No matter how carefully you plan, unexpected challenges still pop up during pregnancy, from pre- to post-natal. While a wonderful time, it can also be stressful: Everything you do, or don’t do, no longer affects just you, it directly impacts your baby. With my newfound knowledge, I felt confident. I became more mindful of my daily choices, from what I ate, to how I moved and to even how I thought. The strategies I implemented were so helpful that I began sharing them with my mom-friends. When I saw the positive impact this had on their pregnancies, I knew I needed to reach out to more moms. But, my life got busy with projects. And then, a second baby.
By the end of 2019, I finally had time to turn my attention to Openbloom, where I launched the “Healthy Mom & Baby Sessions” as a way to share all that I had learned from the Dr. Sears Wellness Institute and from my experience as a mom. It is my goal to share these sessions with as many pregnant women as I can.
